Welcome to the third generation of the D. C. Gohn Associates, Inc. website.  It is our hope that you find this website to be user friendly and informative.  Thanks to Melissa Paules and Bria Franklin for their efforts in creating the third generation of our website.

In early 2004 the management team of D. C. Gohn Associates, Inc. adopted a mission statement for our Company.

"We are committed to providing quality, professional services using our extensive experience in the surveying and engineering field by focusing on personalized solutions to meet our client’s individual needs and to exceed their expectations."

The mission statement outlines our philosophy with respect to how we provide services to our clients. Our experienced employees are the means through which all of our professional services are provided. In order to provide the level of service required for each project, we must continually evaluate the means and methods used by our staff.

A reflectorless, fully–robotic, total station by Trimble and updated TDS software was added to our surveying tool chest in 2004.  We routinely use this equipment for collecting and processing field survey data. This equipment greatly enhances our construction stake-out capabilities for our builder/contractor clients. As always, our staff is anxious to put this technology to work for you.

In the spring of 2006 D. C. Gohn Associates, Inc. took another step in enhancing our field survey capabilities through the purchase of a Trimble R8 GNSS Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment.  Currently we are utilizing this technology to complete Real Time Kinematic (RTK) surveys to establish aerial and ground survey control and to establish locational surveys based upon state plane coordinate systems.  We again look forward to any opportunity to put this technology to work for you.

We are continually looking to improve and enhance our design and drafting capabilities with the latest software. We have recently purchased AutoCAD 2007 along with site design software from Carlson Survey.  Our goal remains to provide a more accurate, complete, and readable plan.  Our staff continues to work toward the utilization of this software for all site designs including plan/profiles for roadways and utilities as well as grading for site layout, street design, and storm water management.

The state and local review agencies also continue to test our abilities to respond to design and permitting requirements. It is our goal to produce drawings that clearly demonstrate and communicate the site designs required by all review agencies. The more recent enacted NPDES Level II requirements remain the most challenging since those requirements are sometimes in conflict with most of the local storm water management regulations. I would also invite you to check out the Spray Irrigation System Information section of this website for information recently obtained from the PA DEP office in Harrisburg concerning the use of Individual Residence Spray Irrigation Systems for nitrogen removal.  The use of this technology may eventually assist landowners in developing lots in areas of high concentrations of nitrates/nitrogen in the ground water.

The continual change in local zoning and subdivision regulations and plan requirement provides and on-going challenge for our project management team in delivering services to our clients.  It remains our goal to provide timely and cost effective services to each one of our clients based upon the unique circumstances of each project and project site.   In order to provide complete and comprehensive analysis of each project we routinely work with other consultants in the local area to provide other services such as traffic engineering, geotechnical analysis, wetland delineation, and archeological investigations.  If you are considering a subdivision or a land development project, I would encourage you to first do as much investigative research as possible at the local municipality.   D. C.
